MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED BUDGET ORDINANCE—September 18, 2007

SHERRARD PUBLIC LIBRARY DISTRICT

Board members in attendance- Diann Carran, Pete Guyton, Wayne McCombs, Sylvia Swegle, Lois Watson, Clint Ziemer

Guests—Larry Stone, Chairman of Steering Committee, Ron Schnowske, Vicki Wassenhove, Rita Bowens

Meeting called to order at 6:30 p.m.

McCombs announced that the purpose of the meeting is to allow members of the community to review the proposed Budget and Appropriations Ordinance and to ask questions.

Ziemer noted that this procedure is followed by all taxing bodies in Illinois. This Ordinance is the result of a public meeting of the Library’s Budget Committee. The board will consider the Ordinance during their regular meeting to follow.

McCombs asked for questions from the audience.

Mr. Schnowske asked the purpose of the Working Cash fund. McCombs replied that it is a fund that is used to build up reserves for extra cash in case it is needed.

Mr. Schnowske asked if the loan payment line includes the interest on the library’s loans. McCombs replied that the loan payment line represents the payments we will make on our loans. The interest in on a separate line.

McCombs asked a final time for questions from the audience.

Motion by Watson to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 7:00 p.m
