Summer Reading 2006!!
The staff at the Sherrard Pub-
lic Library is excited about this
year's summer reading program.
We have planned so many fun
events, crafts, and activities.
Summer reading activites & pro-
grams are for everyone of all AGES!! Have a great
summer!!
Go Fish!
Thursday, June 29, at 5pm the Library will be host-
ing a family night with the fun card game Go Fish!
Prizes, laughs and snacks. So get ready and grab
your lucky charms & GO Fish!!
Sun Printing
Join us for this creative & easy outdoors project.
Make beautiful colored prints with fun objects,
special paint and the magic of the sun. Sun print-
ing will be on Wednesday, June 28, at 3pm.

Hula!!
Wanna learn to Hula? Bring your
grass skirts & leis and learn to hula
with instructor Johnette Palumbo of
Rockford, IL. Johnette will a teach the
sway, the basic step kaholo, and how to tell a story
with the dance. Saturday, June 24 at 3pm.
Lei
Come into the Library Tuesday, June 20 at 3pm
to make an authentic floral lei.
Grass Skirt
Mark your calendar for Tuesday, June
13, at 3pm to come in and make a
grass skirt. Simple and fun!.
Cruise Night
Laura Evans will share adventures of her recent trip
to Hawaii. Join us to experience a part of Hawaiian
history, culture, and foods, Thursday, July 13, at 7pm
Friday Night Movies
Snack on popcorn and goodies while watching films
that follow the summer reading theme. All movies
start at 5pm on the following Fridays.
June 16 - Pirates of the Caribbean
June 23 - Lord of the Flies
June 30 - Peter Pan
July 7 - Island of the Blue Dolphin
July 14 - Jumping Ship
July 21 - `Your Choice'
Pirate Party
For this year's Summer Reading
Kickoff, the Library will be having
a pirate party! At the party plan
to sign up for summer reading,
walk the plank, make your own eye
patch, talk like a pirate, learn parts of a pirate ship,
go on a treasure hunt, participate in a cannonball
toss, win prizes and relax with some grog and sea
biscuits (rootbeer and cookies.) Plan to attend this
`jolly' event Saturday, June 10 at 2pm.

For all of the craft activities, please call the Library a
couple of days in advance to sign up so we know the
amount of materials needed. Thanks.
Awards Luau
This year the Sherrard Library will be throwing an authentic luau, roast pig in-
cluded, to celebrate the summer reading wrap up. Come enjoy the tastes of
Hawaii, exotic fruits, music, and culture. Try to win a prize at the Limbo or hula
hoop contest. The Luau is scheduled for Saturday, July 22, at 3pm. Make sure to
wear your grass skirt and lei, or come as a pirate, Arrgh! There is sure to be fun
for all!!
Under the Tree
Kristine Wainwright will be the
Library Storyteller during Sum-
mer Reading. Listen to fun,
interactive stories and join in a
creative activity, on all Wednes-
days, from June 14 to July 19th
from 10-11am at the Library.
