Hog Roast - Dance - Halloween Party
Friends' of Sherrard Public Library is planning an evening of fall,
food, festivities and fun. The event will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a hog
roast, donated by Wayne and Anna Viager, and a menu of baked beans,
applesauce, hot dogs, beverages and desserts. There will be live music,
story time for the kids, games and a costume contest, complete with
prizes in many categories and age groups. Judges for the contest will be
our own Mayor Ayers, and his wife Cindy. Also judging are Dr. Richard
Fried and Leigh Germanis. There will also be a raffl e to give away half
of the hog cut which ever way you prefer. Tickets will be $1.00 a piece
or 6 for $5.00. Chairing the event are Cookie Dean and Theresa John-
son.
This event is the Fall fundraiser for the Friends' so we hope everyone
will join in the fun. The evening promises to have something for every-
one. There will be no charge, admission is by donation.
Christmas Open House
The Library's annual Christmas Open House will be held Saturday,
December 1st, from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. The traditional Christmas tree
bidding will take place all day, with the auction winners announced at
7:30 p.m. The usual prizes will be awarded for children and adults in
categories such as sports, traditional, patriotic, creative, themes and
handmade. If you plan on decorating a tree you may pick it up starting
October 30th and they need to be dropped off no later than November
26th. In addition to the trees, the Library will serve cookies and cocoa.
Santa will make an appearance for photos at 6:00 p.m. There will be ac-
tivities and games all day for adults and children. Donations graciously
accepted.
