Not By It's Cover...
By: Paula Rosenthal
Whitney Gaskell's third novel,
She, Myself and I, is the story of
three sisters. Paige is a high pow-
ered divorce attorney who is try-
ing the dating world after her own
divorce to a husband who came out
of the closet. Sophie is married,
dealing with a pregnancy accom-
panied by raging hormones and
then raising a young child. Mickey
is finishing college and trying to
figure out what she wants to do
next...medical school like her par-
ents want or should she follow her
own dream. On top of everything
the sisters are dealing with in their
own lives they are also trying to
deal with their parents suddenly
falling back in love with each other
after an explosive marriage and an
even worse divorce. This book is
written in three sections, each nar-
rated by a different sister. I enjoyed
this because it gave me the chance
to know each sister quite well and
see things through their eyes. You
are able to get an understanding of
the sisters' relationships with each
other through each sister's perspec-
tive. You'll find something to relate
to in each sister's personality and
experiences.

Special Thanks
Your library becomes better and better, thanks to our volunteers who take
on special projects. Recently Larry and Barb Stone painted the railings,
flag pole and wall enterance. Wayne McCombs donated the paint used on
the south wall. Phyllis Reed was gardener-extraordinaire. She weeded,
dug in border stones and planted mums. Mildred Schurr organized a pro-
gram dedicated to Women's Health.
Sean Graff, Pete Guyton, Stefanie Johnson, Paula Rosenthal, Larry
Stone, Sylvia Swegle, and Laura Evans organized our collection on our
new shelving received from Trinity Health Systems.

Sweet Annie's Floral, will share techniques of successful wreath making,
and, with any luck, by the end of the evening everyone will have a lovely
treasure to proudly display. Call the library (309-593-2178) to register.
Space is limited. Your only cost will be materials, which range in price
from twenty dollars to twenty-five dollars.
