Holi-Daze Kickoff!!
Sherrard's Holi-Daze Kickoff will be on Saturday, November 19, from 5-8pm. Be a part of this
community event! There will be horse drawn carriage rides and a bonfire with smore's. Take a walk
around the village and visit the local businesses. This is a great time of year to reflect and express
our appreciation to the businesses in our community. The weather should be nice, we all can enjoy
the evening before the holiday rush begins. Several opportunities will be available at the Library;
Christmas Tree Contest, Picture with Santa, Operation Santa Cookie Auction, carolers, Antique Jars,
cocoa & cookies and much more. At 8pm meet back at the Library gym where all of the local busi-
nesses will congregate to have a central drawing of prizes.
Our Family Favorites
Thanks to everyone who offered recipes to the
Friends group. They have completed the cook-
book and there are over 600 recipes! The reci-
pes in this book are as special as the folks who
shared them with us. Our Family Favorites
will be available for sale December 20th, just in
time for Christmas. Cookbooks will be sold for
$10 each. You may pay in advance and reserve
a copy (or two). Just stop in your Library.
Santa Claus
Santa Claus is coming to town! Have you been
naughty or nice? Santa knows. So get your
smile ready because Santa will be at the Holi-
daze festivities to take pictures with everyone.
Ingredients Included
The Friends group will have antique
jars filled with all the fixin's to make
delicious goodies. There will be
three mixes to choose from; Beef
Lentil Soup, Death by Chocolate Cookies and
Cocoa mix. Each antique blue jar will be priced
at $10. These decorative jars filled with deli-
cious ingredients would be a great gift idea for
anyone on your Christmas list.
Christmas Tree Decorating Contest
Trees will be available the first part of October at
the Library. Celebrate the 3rd year of the Christ-
mas Tree Decorating Contest. This is such a
fun project. Stop by your Library and grab a tree
for you and a friend to decorate. Brainstorm
ideas and have fun. Put on your creative thinking
caps. There will be three divisions this year for
judging; kids, sports and traditional. Come into
the Library to get your free tree. Only a short
time left. The trees will be auctioned during the
Holi-Daze Kickoff, Saturday, November 19th.
Operation Santa Cookie Auction
This year the Friends of the Library will be hold-
ing an Operation Santa Cookie Auction. Opera-
tion Santa raises money for families in the school
district who are in need. The raised funds help
buy coats, shoes, clothes and other necessities.
There will be three classes and three age groups
in Operation Santa Cookie Auction. Awards will
be given to each class for each age group. If you
would like to take part in this wonderful fund
raiser by making your most fawned over cookies,
please stop by the Library to get more informa-
tion on Operation Santa.
