Week #3 June 28th Intergalactic Tie Dye
Let's get funky with color! Items will be available to do or you
can bring your own.
Week #4 July 5th Mars Print Stepping Stone
In this craft we will be working with cement to
mark our landing on Mars. Mark it with a foot-
print, your name, the date, and other decorations.
Week #5 July 12th Pet Alien
Create your own pet alien with play dough, craft items and
google eyes.
Week #6 July 19th Space Patch Plaque
Mission complete. Now it is time to create your own summer
reading mission patch. Graphics and clip art from summer read-
ing. And a wooden plaque to display it on. Everything will be
provided. If you would like to have your picture on your patch,
please bring it with you to the craft.
For all of the craft activities, please call the Library a couple of days in
advance to sign up so we know the amount of materials needed.
Please dress appropriately for these crafts. The Library is not respon-
sible for any clothing damaged during craft time.
Space Flicks
The Sherrard Library will show a space related movie on
Wednesday afternoons at 3pm. Sit back, relax, enjoy some pop-
corn while cooling off from the summer heat.

Star Awards Party
The Friends and Staff of the Sherrard
Public Library are still planning the fi nal touches on
the "Mission to Read" awards party. Stay tuned for
additional information.

SUMMER!!
The Sherrard Public Library is excited about this year's sum-
mer reading program. The theme for our six week program is
"Mission to Read". During this time you will encounter, aliens,
comets, moons, planets, constellations and much more.
The grand prize for this year's summer reading program will be a
$70 gift certifi cate from Best Buy stores. The more you read the
more chances you have to win the grand prize. The grand prize
will be for ages 0-18 years. Good Luck!!
Blast Off!!
"Mission to Read" summer reading kick off will be Monday, June
11th starting at 6pm. There will be `out-of-this-world' snacks,
make a moon rock craft and galaxy size fun Space BINGO giving
you lots of chances to win prizes. Come in costume as an alien,
astronaut, star or even E.T.
Take Me to Your Reader
Toddle into the library Tuesday mornings during summer reading
for Tot Time story hour. The Friends and staff have some really
fun ideas. Listen to exciting, out-of-
this world stories, make a fun craft,
and have a snack. All story hours will
be held on Tuesday mornings from 10-
11am in the library community room.

Planet Craft
All crafts will be held on Thursday mornings at 10:30am.

Create a colorful star to hang in your window for everyone to see.
Week #2 June 21st Asteroid Belt
Got an old belt and want to jazz it up space style? Come to this
craft. If you don't have one, a belt will be provided, sizes will
vary.
L.I.B.
Losing is Beautiful is a weight loss support
group that meets at your library on Tues-
days at 2:30pm.
Members of any age are welcome. L.I.B.
is a support group only - no menus to fol-
low. The cost is only $10.00 to join and
$2.00 per month after that. Members can
win cash prizes by being a loser!! L.I.B
gals lost a total of seventy pounds and have
kept it off for several years.
The Club is willing to change meeting
times if interested members require a dif-

Book Sale
During the Sherrard Wide Yard Sales on
June 2nd, the Friends will be selling books,
magazines, videos and other library materi-
als from 8am to noon. Running low on
reading material for the summer? Need
a few paperbacks for a to take along on
a vacation or need some children books?
Stop at the Library Community Room to get
a look at all the treasures the Library has to
offer
.

Easter Egg Hunt
The Sherrard Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled
for April 7 at 10:30am at the Sherrard Park.
Children ages 0-4th grade are welcome
to hunt eggs. There will be prizes, eggs,
candy, and lots of fun.
