COMING UP....
Our Healthspeak series has been growing in interest and attendance. The consequent materials have become very popular. Your Sherrard
Public Library is continuing the series with Cassandra Bowyer.
August 28 at 7:00 p.m. Cassandra will discuss Autoimmune Disease; Research, Resources and Prevention.
September 25
th
at 5:00 p.m. Cassandra plans to present Prostate Cancer Prevention Resources; Andropause and Hormone Balance.
The library will provide copies of the latest alternative research on the above two topics as well as introduce everyone to items which have been
recommended as additions to our collection.
KNITTING CLASSES
Knitting continues at 1:00 p.m. every Thursday. Join us for knitting and purling and great knitting conversation. If you are a beginner you
are invited to come learn the basics of this art and progress with a finished scarf. If you are a seasoned knitter, you are invited for an hour of
knitting a project of your choice. Marcia Edwards and JoAnn Heil have completed their first project. Afghans are in JoAnn and Marcia's
future. The class recently enjoyed a field trip to Michaels where yarns and accessories were studied. When the floods recede the class will
journey to Muscatine's Crazy Girl Yarn Shop
Your library now owns author, Debbie Macomber's, project books and novels. Stop by the library and take a peak.
If the daytime hour does not fit into your schedule, call the Library (593-2178) to begin an evening class.
STAMPING CLASSES
Your library was successful in obtaining a Stampin Up instructor. Her name is Jess Crompton. She will be offering classes at the library on
August 13 and August 27 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jess said that is ample time to complete several projects ­ even for the novice stamper. Call
the Library to be the first of ten students she will teach. Cost of the classes is per project you choose to complete. She plans to make cards, gift
bags and tags. Stampin Up products will also be available for sale and order. Don't delay ­ there is a waiting list to register (593-2178)
SCRAPBOOKING CLASSES
Pam Lynch will offer scrapbooking classes at your library on September 10 and September 24 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Pam will review the
basics of scrapbooking and share examples at the first class. She will provide a directory of scrapbooking material stores. She asks students
to bring pictures and materials (if students have them) to this first class where she will provide direction. The second class will be focused on
papers, etc. students find to complete pages and projects. There is room for ten in the class. Don't hesitate to call the library and reserve your
space (593-2178).
PAMPERED CHEF
Heather Harkey, Pampered Chef professional, has agreed to afternoon and evening presentations, complete with door prizes, delicious recipes
and opportunities to purchase the latest Pampered Chef products at reduced prices. Join us, August 6

th
­ 1:00 p.m.,
to learn the latest techniques with Pampered Chef tools. You will sample the delicious foods Heather prepares from Pampered Chef's own
recipes. Reservations are required because we need to know the amounts of foods to purchase. (593-2178)
CROSS STITCHING
Calling all x-stitchers! Thank you, Sylvia Swegle, for a great evening and a finished product. All the gals who came Monday, June 30th now
have a patriotic pin cushion. Interest doesn't stop there. Now there are ladies who expressed desire to begin a stitchers group. Call the library
