Saturday Afternoon Movies
Nothing to do on a cold Saturday afternoon. Bring
your family and come join us at the Sherrard Library
for an afternoon of watching a movie on the big
screen. All Saturday movies will start at 1pm.

Quilted Wall Hanging
The Sherrard Library will be working with
J's Hometown Quilting in Reynolds, IL to
share information on machine applique.
The class will make the pictured wall
hanging on Thursday, January 25 from
6-8pm at the quilt shop in Reynolds. Cost is $10
plus class supplies. There will be sewing machines
available to use at the shop or you can bring your
own. Class size is limited to 8. To sign up call the
Library at 593-2178. J's Hometown Quilting Hours
are Tuesday-Friday 9am-4pm, Saturday 10am-4pm
.
Crocheted Hand Towel
Suzanne Hoke will instruct a class on
how to turn a hand towel into a hanging
crocheted towel on Thursday, February
15 at 6:30pm. These towels are great
for kitchen and bathroom areas. Class
size is limited to 10 people. Class is free.
Materials that you will need to bring: full sized hand
towel, yarn, H size crochet hook, button, large darn-
ing needle, 6 medium size safety pins, and an old
extra towel. Call the Library to sign up.
Landscape Painting
Join us at the Sherrard Library Thursday, January 18,
from 6-8pm to take a class on painting a landscape.
Become your own Bob Ross. Learn basics of creat-
ing a beautiful picture, using watercolor and water
based paints. Understand how to layer background,
foreground and middle ground. For all ages. Paints
and canvas will be provided. There is a minimum
class sign up of 10 people, no maximum. Class fee
is $12 per person. Sign up required before Monday,
January 15.
Which Way Do I Go?
This fun class will be on creating
your own directional sign. Be cre-
ative. Got a place that's confusing
to get too, need a guide to show the way? Or want
a sign just for fun? This is the class for you. There
will be a couple of different wooden signs to choose
from; a fi nger pointing sign and an arrow point-
ing sign. Join us Thursday, March 15 from 6-8pm.
Paints and signs will be provided. For all ages.
There is a minimum class sign up of 10 people, no
maximum. Class fee is $12 per person. Sign up is
required before Monday, March 12.
Design Your Own Coat of Arms
Coats of Arms date to the early Middle Ages
when helmets and other armor made it dif-
fi cult to tell warriors apart. Join us Thursday,
February 8 from 6-8pm to create your very
own coat of arms. Bring the whole gang and create a
coat of arms for the family or do one just for yourself.
Kids can design their own coat of arms on a smaller
wooden shield. There will be resources to draw from,
books with different ideas. Be sure to bring ideas
or things that mean something to you or your family.
Different elements include colors, animals, symbols
and design features. Plan on joining the Library for
this fun and creative class. Paint and wooden shields
will be provided. There is a minimum class sign up
of 10 people, no maximum. Class fee is $12 per per-
son. Sign up required before Monday, February 5.
