Parenting Power
The Sherrard Public Library was awarded a grant to purchase materials for the non-
fi ction collection on parenting. The Library wants to create a resource for all patrons.
These resources would be full of a wide range of educational material on child rearing
such as child development, nutrition, physical fi tness, play and discipline, as all of
these points are important to raising happy healthy children. This information will
benefi t all types of parenting including grandparents, single parents, young mothers
and fathers, and even the `veteran' parents.
As every parent knows raising children can be overwhelming. With this program the
Sherrard Public Library would like to help relieve some of the pressure by creating a
parent/child group and family nights such as "cooking with kids", family game night
and even having a family craft project night. If interested in helping getting this started
please contact Chelsey at the Library.
