Your Library is on the Ballot!

April 04, 2023

To address increasing minimum wages, the library is proposing a tax increase.

The question provides voters an opportunity to approve ("yes") or disapprove ("no") of a

0.04% tax increase.

Instead, Sherrard Library relies on YOUR property taxes!

That's less than 1/2 %!

YOUR TAXES HAVE IMPACT!

Your Property Taxes Finance Over 99% of the Costs Associated With:

- Staffing

- Programs

- Books, Movies, Magazines, Newspapers

- Interlibrary Loan Fees

- eBook Fees

- Hours of Operation

- And So Much More!

From the Director's Desk:

We hope you've enjoyed all of the books, events, and rewards that our summer reading program, Reading is Sweet, has offered!  With 221 readers, 38 programs, 500 program guests, 8 Grand Prizes, and lots of reading rewards along the way - this was a busy summer!  All of our summer activities are financed by your property taxes, see more information about the library's tax proposition below.

To build another spectacular year of services and activities, Crafts / Book Bundles / and other programming will return in September.  Instead, join us for Book Club on the first and third Monday each month!  Or, try one of our general admission passes to local attractions like the QC Botanical Center, Putnam Museum, FIGGE Museum, Niabi Zoo, and German-American Heritage Center!  Check out our new FUN BUNDLE pass which grants access to Niabi Zoo, Putnam Museum, and Botanical Center - all on one card!

Registration for September events opens August 19th at 10 AM
