Saturday (every other), 8:30 AM - 12 PM
The Sherrard Public Library District is seeking an outgoing and adaptable individual who enjoys working with the public! Must have exceptional customer service, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide front desk service and care of library materials with professionalism, helpfulness, and organization.
Perform circulation functions using integrated library software, and reader's advisory services.
Promote Library activities and services during customer interactions.
Shelves library materials accurately according to library classification systems.
Engages in care of library collection, including processing, mending, and cleaning materials.
Reviews shelves for accuracy and condition, and maintains organization and neat appearance of library.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of customer service principles
Ability to interact with customers with professionalism, patience, and attention to detail
Ability to perform responsibilities with positivity, critical thinking, and accuracy
Ability to maintain positive working relationship with library management, co-workers, and public
Ability to adapt to new library policies, procedures, activities, and goals Ability to sort materials by library classification systems
Masks required indoors; public and high touch surfaces are cleaned regularly; contracted cleaning services utilized weekly; PTO package for employees encourages use when sick.
